Chrome Audio Recorder — Support & FAQ

Need help? Most questions are answered below. If not, use the contact form on this page and we'll get back to you.

What can I record?

You can record the audio from any browser tab (music, videos, calls, meetings), your microphone, or both mixed together into a single recording.

Is there a time limit?

No. Record for as long as you need. You can also pause and resume a recording without losing what you've captured so far.

Where are my recordings saved?

Recordings are processed in your browser and saved to your device when you export them. Nothing is uploaded to any server. See the privacy policy.

What audio format do I get?

Your recording is exported as a standard audio file you can play, share, or import into any editor.

Can I record a video call?

Yes — start a recording on the tab where the call is playing (and enable your mic if you want your own voice included). Please make sure everyone consents to being recorded where required.

Does it work in Edge, Brave, or Opera?

Yes. It's a Chromium extension, so it installs from the Chrome Web Store in Edge, Brave, Opera, and other Chromium-based browsers.
