Privacy Policy — Olli

Effective date: September 5, 2026 Last updated: September 14, 2026

Website availability — September 14, 2026: Olli’s website install, sign-in, and purchase buttons are temporarily disabled. This does not cancel an existing subscription, stop its scheduled renewal, or delete saved data. For account access, cancellation, refunds, or privacy requests during this pause, email support@chromextensions.com.

Olli (“Olli”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) is a browser extension that helps you write, improve, shorten, translate, spell-check, extract text from images, manage prompts and templates, and draft replies from text or selected page content.

This Privacy Policy explains what information Olli handles, how we use it, when it is shared, and the choices you have. It is intended to support extension store privacy disclosure requirements.

1. Scope

This policy applies to:

  • The Olli browser extension.
  • Olli extension pages, side panel, popup, settings, and injected assistant UI.
  • Olli pages on chromextensions.com used for product information, authentication, account details, checkout, and billing support.
  • Olli backend services used by the extension.
  • Account, sync, billing, AI, OCR, spell check, translation, writing, and prompt-management features.

This policy does not apply to third-party websites you visit, except for Olli’s limited interaction with page content when you intentionally use an Olli feature on that page.

2. Single purpose

Olli’s single purpose is to provide an AI-assisted writing and productivity assistant inside the browser. Olli uses your data only to provide, maintain, secure, and improve features directly related to that purpose.

3. Information Olli handles

3.1 Account information

When you sign in, Olli may handle:

  • Email address.
  • Name or profile information provided by the authentication provider.
  • Authentication provider identifiers.
  • Authentication tokens or session data needed to keep you signed in.
  • Account plan, subscription status, credit balance, and usage counters.

Olli uses an authentication service provider for email verification codes, third-party sign-in, and account sessions.

3.2 User-provided text and page content

When you use Olli features, Olli may process text such as:

  • Text typed or pasted into Olli.
  • Selected text from a webpage.
  • Text from an active input box or editor where you invoke Olli.
  • Conversation or thread context visible on the page and needed for reply generation.
  • Your prompts, templates, prompt categories, and saved writing history.
  • Spell-check input and generated correction suggestions.
  • Translation input and generated translations.
  • Writing and reply draft input and generated output.

Olli does not continuously collect all page content. Page content is accessed for user-facing features only when you invoke the extension, open the assistant, select text, request AI actions, ask for reply ideas, extract OCR text, or insert generated text.

3.3 Images and screenshots

When you use OCR or image-based reply features, Olli may process:

  • Images you upload.
  • Screenshots or selected page areas captured after you choose the screenshot or OCR action.
  • Text extracted from those images.

Images are used to extract text or provide visual context for the requested feature. Olli does not capture screenshots in the background without your action.

3.4 Saved prompts, templates, history, and preferences

Olli may store:

  • Prompts and templates you create, including rich text, field settings, defaults, Notes, and references to other saved templates.
  • Automatically saved template changes and local recovery drafts where available.
  • Prompt categories and tab ordering.
  • Saved output history.
  • Writing preferences such as tone, length, style, language, and limits.
  • Theme, panel mode, bubble appearance, enabled or disabled actions, and other extension settings.
  • Disabled site/domain/page preferences.

Some of this data is stored locally in browser storage. When you are signed in, Olli syncs your prompts, templates, and history through Olli’s backend and cloud storage services so you can use them across your signed-in sessions and devices. Olli retains the latest 100 history items.

Template Notes are excluded from final copied or inserted text, but remain part of the saved template and can sync with it. Do not treat Notes as private from your own synced account or devices. Configured page-context fields may use the current page address or title when you use the template. Configured action buttons run when you click them and may interact with page fields or buttons.

3.5 Payment and subscription information

For paid plans, Olli may handle:

  • Subscription plan selection.
  • Payment-provider checkout, payment, customer, and subscription identifiers.
  • Subscription status, billing period, cancellation state, refund or dispute state, and related metadata needed to manage access.

Olli does not store full credit card numbers or full payment card details. Payments are processed securely by the applicable payment provider, which may act as Merchant of Record.

3.6 Technical and operational data

Olli may handle limited technical data needed to operate and protect the service, such as:

  • Extension install identifier.
  • Request metadata such as time, status, and feature/action type.
  • Error information and basic diagnostic data.
  • Server logs that may include IP address, browser/user agent, request path, and timestamps.
  • Abuse-prevention, authentication, and credit-usage records.

We use this data to provide the extension, troubleshoot issues, prevent abuse, enforce credits or subscriptions, maintain security, and measure reliability.

4. How Olli uses information

Olli uses information to:

  • Generate, improve, shorten, translate, and rewrite your text.
  • Generate reply ideas and reply drafts based on context you provide.
  • Check spelling and suggest corrections.
  • Extract text from images and screenshots.
  • Copy or insert generated text at your request.
  • Save and sync prompts, templates, preferences, and history.
  • Authenticate you and maintain sessions.
  • Provide free credits, paid subscriptions, and account status.
  • Process payments and verify subscriptions.
  • Provide support, debug errors, prevent abuse, and secure the service.
  • Maintain and improve the reliability of Olli’s user-facing features.

Olli does not use your text, page content, screenshots, images, prompts, templates, or history for unrelated advertising, credit scoring, data brokerage, or sale to third parties.

5. How Olli shares information

Olli shares your data only when necessary to provide or improve Olli’s disclosed functionality, comply with law, protect against abuse, or manage a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets with appropriate notice or consent where required.

5.1 AI processing providers

Olli may send user-provided text, selected page content, images, screenshots, or extracted context to AI providers to perform the requested AI action — for example improving writing, translation, spell check, reply generation, and OCR. Only the content needed for the requested feature is sent for processing.

5.2 Authentication and cloud storage providers

Authentication providers process account information, session tokens, email verification codes, third-party sign-in flows, and related security data. Cloud storage providers store synced prompts, templates, history, and account records so these remain available across your signed-in devices.

5.3 Payment providers

Olli uses payment providers to process paid subscriptions. The applicable provider receives the information necessary to operate checkout, collect payment and applicable sales taxes, issue payment records, prevent fraud, handle cancellations, refunds and disputes, and maintain subscription status. Each provider processes information under its own privacy terms, made available through its payment or account services.

5.4 Hosting and infrastructure providers

Olli uses cloud hosting providers to run its website and backend services. Hosting providers may process server requests, logs, and operational data necessary to run the service.

The website uses an analytics service for page views and interaction events, such as install-button clicks. Analytics may include page URLs, referrers, approximate location, and browser or device information.

5.5 Browser and sign-in services

Olli uses browser extension APIs and supported third-party sign-in services. Browser, extension-store, and sign-in providers may process data under their own policies when you use those services.

6. extension store Limited Use disclosure

Olli’s use and transfer of information received from browser extension APIs and sign-in provider APIs adheres to the extension store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:

  • Olli uses user data only to provide or improve its AI writing, translation, OCR, spell check, prompt-management, account, sync, and subscription features.
  • Olli transfers user data only when necessary to provide or improve those features, comply with applicable law, protect against abuse or security threats, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets with appropriate consent where required.
  • Olli does not use or transfer user data for personalized advertising, retargeting, interest-based ads, data brokerage, or unrelated marketing.
  • Olli does not allow humans to read user data except with your explicit consent for support, when necessary for security or abuse investigation, to comply with law, or when data is aggregated and anonymized for internal operations.

7. Local storage and sync storage

Olli stores some data in browser storage on your browser, including settings, preferences, prompts, templates, history, account-session data, credit/account cache, and disabled-site preferences.

Signing out removes the account session and cached account status, but it does not remove all locally stored prompts, templates, history, or preferences. You can remove individual saved items where Olli provides controls. Clearing browser extension storage or uninstalling Olli removes its local data from that device. These actions do not automatically delete cloud-synced account data, which remains until you delete it or request account deletion by emailing support@chromextensions.com from your Olli sign-in address.

8. Clipboard and insert actions

Olli may write text to the clipboard only when you choose a copy action, and may insert generated text into a webpage or input field only when you choose an insert action. Olli does not read clipboard content continuously in the background.

9. Web browsing activity

Olli requests broad host access because its writing assistant, bubble, side panel, OCR, reply, and insertion features are designed to work across websites where you choose to use them.

Olli does not collect browsing history for unrelated purposes. Olli may access the active tab URL or page context to:

  • Display or position the assistant.
  • Enable or disable Olli for a site, domain, or page.
  • Read selected or visible text needed for a user-requested action.
  • Capture a selected page area for OCR after your action.
  • Insert generated text at your request.

Olli does not sell browsing activity and does not use browsing activity for advertising.

10. Data retention

Olli keeps user data only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the extension, maintain accounts and subscriptions, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent abuse, and maintain security. Typical practices include:

  • Local extension settings and content remain until you delete available items, clear browser extension storage, or uninstall the extension. Signing out alone does not clear all local data.
  • Synced prompts and templates remain until you delete them or request account deletion. Olli keeps the latest 100 history items.
  • Synced account data remains until you delete it or request deletion.
  • Authentication and subscription records are kept as needed to maintain account access and billing status.
  • Payment and subscription records may be retained as required for accounting, tax, legal, fraud-prevention, or payment-dispute purposes.
  • Server logs and diagnostic records are retained for a limited period appropriate for security, debugging, and operations.

11. Security

Olli uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your data, including:

  • HTTPS for data transmitted between the extension, backend services, authentication and storage providers, payment providers, and AI providers.
  • browser extension storage for local extension data.
  • Authentication checks for account and credit-related backend requests.
  • Avoiding storage of full payment card details.
  • Limiting data use to the disclosed extension purpose.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Please avoid submitting sensitive information unless it is necessary for the feature you are using.

12. Your choices and controls

You can:

  • Choose whether to sign in.
  • Use email OTP or third-party sign-in where available.
  • Clear prompts, templates, and history where the extension provides controls.
  • Disable Olli globally, for a domain, or for a page where supported.

Please include the email address used for Olli sign-in. We may need to verify the request before deleting account data. Some records may be retained where required for legal, tax, accounting, payment-dispute, fraud-prevention, or security purposes.

14. Children’s privacy

Olli is not intended for children under 13 years old, or the minimum age required by applicable law in your jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Olli, contact us so we can take appropriate action.

15. International processing

Olli, its backend services, and its service providers may process information in countries other than your country of residence. Data protection laws in those countries may differ from local laws.

16. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes to how Olli handles user data, we will update this policy and provide notice where required, including through the extension, website, or extension store listing as appropriate.
